KYC & KYB Analyst Intern

What you'll be doing

You'll join our Operations team based in Barcelona for a 6-month internship. We are currently looking for candidates to fill two distinct positions: KYC Analyst Intern (Consumer focus) and KYB Analyst Intern (Merchant/Business focus).

Depending on the track you are selected for, your main goal will be to enable a smooth onboarding for our consumers or to ensure a fast, accurate verification process for our merchants. Here is what your day-to-day will look like based on the role:

KYC Analyst Intern (Consumer Track):

• Customer Assistance - Provide clear and timely support to consumers (primarily via email) to guide them through the verification, activation, and access process and request missing information.

• Review Identity Documents - Check that ID documents meet Satispay's internal standards, learning to confirm the authenticity of country-specific documents.

• Spot Red Flags - Identify inconsistencies or potential red flags and escalate high-risk consumer cases to the FinCrime team.

KYB Analyst Intern (Merchant Track):

• Merchant Assistance - Provide clear and timely support to businesses (primarily via email) to guide them through the verification process and request any missing information.

• Support Business Onboarding - Review documentation (such as company extracts, bylaws, and ID documents) for new merchants to ensure they meet Satispay internal standards before activation.

• Manage Low-Risk Profile Reviews - Be responsible for the Ongoing Due Diligence of merchants classified as Low Risk, ensuring their information is up-to-date and consistent over time.

Core Responsibilities & Growth for Both Roles:

• Own Your Daily Queue - Work through a daily queue of cases, meeting productivity, quality, and SLA targets regardless of your specific track.

• Learn & Grow - Over the 6 months, you will understand the regulatory framework behind digital payments. KYC Interns will learn how to triage screening alerts (PEP, sanctions, adverse media) and support periodic reviews, while KYB Interns will learn how to analyze corporate structures and identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs).

Who we're looking for

This role needs someone curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn the fundamentals of FinTech compliance.

• Education - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

• Analytical Mindset - Keen eye for detail with a passion for digging into documents and ensuring accuracy.

• Customer Focus - Clear and patient communication skills with a focus on delivering a smooth user experience.

• Language Skills - Professional fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Italian is a strong asset.

• Proactive Attitude - Organized, eager to learn, and comfortable asking questions when needed.

• Tech-Savvy - Comfortable using digital tools and learning new software quickly.
